Originally from Manchester in the UK, I am currently based in Cape Town, South Africa. I’m a family-oriented man which includes being dad to my daughter, as well as a Border Collie named Hendrix and a cat named Stevens.
I focus on my students’ goals and specialise in building lesson plans that work towards achieving their objectives. This enables me to keep the learning process both interesting and, more importantly, fun!
My influences include Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Matt Schofield, Guthrie Trapp, T-Bone Walker, and John Frusciante, to name just a few.
I like to teach the concrete fundamentals of the guitar, always keeping the goal of what you dream of playing, in mind.
I currently have around 20 students, ranging from beginner to professional, including some musicians in working bands. My WhatsApp group offers additional support, as well as being a place where we can share ideas and progress.
Lessons are customised to your availability and are offered in-person at my home in Cape Town or via Zoom for international students and anyone unable to attend in person.
In addition to lessons, my students get full support outside of the designated lesson time. This means your questions are answered timeously, and there is additional video support via WeTransfer or short clips via WhatsApp where required. All my videos are uploaded to my YouTube channel for easy catch ups on any lesson material.
